Topical Mapping Tools

Building from the table’s vision and their feedback, meetings with Roundtable members have involved some new iteration of an interactive mapping tool, designed to specifically address a question posed by the table or an organization. One such iteration was created to show the wide gap between the affordability targets of City-financed housing and the incomes of people in Bronx neighborhoods. A partner organization, Community Action for Safe Apartments, that co-led the campaign around the Jerome Avenue rezoning, has used this map to support evidence of their work toward requiring deeper affordability in City developments. The Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition is using an early prototype of the all-purpose tool to find sites as part of the planning and visioning process of its Community Land Trust. Co-developing these more specific mapping tools facilitated frequent iteration with Roundtable members and generated feedback that could be incorporated into the All-Purpose Strategic Mapping Tool.
